Leonard E. Gregory (age 84) – Entered into rest with his family at his side on January 9, 2010 in Spokane, WA, where he has been a resident for over 16 years. Born in Lind, WA, to Guy and Besta Gregory, Leonard served in the U.S. Army during WWII. He was a hard working man having worked as a miner at Deep Lake in Metaline and worked for Caterpillar in Spokane. He was known to grow the best tomatoes in the county. Leonard was a member of Turning Point/Open Bible Church in Spokane and the American Legion. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Marlene, at home; daughter, Denise Anderson; beloved granddaughter, Danielle Anderson; two great-granddaughters, Annie and Whitley Anderson; a sister and brother-in-law, Verda and Earl Moos of Billings, MT; numerous nieces and nephews; a host of friends, including countless friends with Day Out for the Blind. He was preceded in death by his son, Daniel in 2005, by four brothers, and three sisters. Viewing will be possible on Thursday and Friday, between 9 a.m. and 7 p.m. Funeral service will be held on Saturday, January 15, 2010 at 10:00 A.M. at RIPLINGER FUNERAL HOME, 4305 N DIVISION, Spokane, WA. Graveside service with military honors will be held later that day at 2:00 P.M. at the Metaline Cemetery in Metaline, WA. Memorial may be made to Hospice of Spokane, POB 2215, Spokane, WA 99210-2215.
