Lewis, Robert W. “Ace” Our beloved “Ace” passed away on March 23, 2011 at Deaconess Medical Center in Spokane WA after a very short illness. Bob was born on July 31, 1922 in Long Creek, WA to Hanburn J. and Velma M. (Plews) Lewis (Davey). Bob was a skilled carpenter and was well known for his keen and meticulous work. He began as a carpenter in the Coast Guard and worked for 25 years at the Armour Meat Packing Company in Spokane. He retired from R. A. Hanson Co. in Spokane after 11 years in 1984. Bob was a long time member of the El Katif Shrine and Scottish Rite and The Grand Lodge of Free and Accepted Masons and was a Life Member of Orchard Lodge No. 200. An avid bowler, "Ace" was on the El Katif Bowling League for over 50 years and most recently on the Senior League at Valley Bowl. He was also an avid fisherman and enjoyed a lifetime of fishing at the many lakes in the area. Bob loved to reminisce about the many years of fishing on Lake Roosevelt with his wife Marion. He was also a sports fan and spent many seasons at the Spokane Indians Ballpark, watching auto racing and listening to baseball games on the radio. Bob also spent the past 40 years at his "office", The Donut Parade on Hamilton. He could be found in his booth nearly every morning drinking coffee, eating donuts and "telling lies" with his many cronies. Most days, his precious Dachshund, Otis, was waiting in the car for his bite of donut or cheeseburger and fries from Zips. Bob was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 52 years, Marion, in 2001. He was also preceded in death by his father in 1956, his mother in 2009 and his sister Bernice Zoet in 2005. He is survived by a daughter, Sandra Kinsman of San Mateo, NM; grandchildren: Ronald and Heather Hunter, James and Rachael Lamphere, and Martha Cochran, all of Spokane. He is also survived by great grandchildren: Tyler, Derrick, Brittney, Christian, Cameron, Jonathan and Colton. Bob is also survived by a sister, Lucille Ivy, Spokane and brother Donny Jones, Tucson, AZ, and his loyal friend Otis. Graveside service will be held March 31st at 1:00pm at Greenwood Memorial Terrace, 211 N. Government Way, Spokane, WA. Viewing times are March 29th and 30th from 9am to 8pm at Riplinger Funeral Home and Crematory, 4305 N. Division, Spokane, WA.
