Our beautiful, kind, gracious mother, grandmother and friend, Rosada Houk was welcomed into Heaven on March 28, 2011. Rosada was born in Spokane on June 2, 1932 to Hans and LuCille Olson. She graduated from Central Valley High School. Rosada married Bill and worked at Seattle First National Bank in Pullman so that he could earn his degree from WSU. After her children were raised she worked at Old National Bank and Gene Plett Construction in Spokane. Rosada’s children have been blessed to have her as their mother. Her grandchildren adored her. She was involved in the lives and activities of her kids and grandkids; reminding them how proud she was of them. Her heart and home were open to people in need. In fact other people’s needs tended to take priority over her own. She added an artistic flair to everything she did. Rosada enjoyed giving fancy dinner parties, sewing, traveling, and swimming. A graceful dancer, she made many wonderful friends through being very active in the Crystal Chandeliers Ballroom Dance Club after her divorce from Bill. Being creative, she liked to decorate her house, the dance halls, the dance club newsletters, invitations, food, gifts and anything else that needed a special touch. She loved and was loved deeply. Everyone who knew her describes her as sweet, loving, generous and courageous. An inspiration to many, Rosada will be missed dearly. Survived by children: Julie (Ron) Bohman, Mark (Inez) Houk, Dan (Lori) Houk, Grandchildren: Sarah (Doug) Pooler, Jon (Kristi) Houk, Melissa (Kyle) Vannatter, Brandon, T.J., Andy, Christy, and Mahlon Houk; great grandchildren, Isaac, Kaylee and Aaron; Sister in law Dixie (Ai) Self; Sister in law Dona Olson and Special friend Francis Ruud.
