Paul D. Warrington was born November 23, 1931 in Libby, MT, he attended school in Libby, Spokane and E.W.S.U. Paul was a member of the Spokane Police Force for 25 years, retiring August 1, 1991. During his Police career, he was a Patrolman, Motorcycle Officer and Detective. Paul was instrumental in organizing and serving on the Spokane Police Bomb Squad where he was a member for four years. A veteran of the Korean conflict, Paul also volunteered for service in Vietnam serving in 1968-69 with the 1st Calvary Division. He retired from the Army Reserve as a Command Sergeant Major at the age of 60 with a total of 44 years active and reserve service. His reserve service included the Naval Reserve, Coast Guard Reserve, 12th Special Forces (Green Berets) and 104th Division. During his service Paul was the recipient of several medals and decorations. Paul was a member of the Spokane Police Guild, Post Commander of DAV 45, VFW 1435 and Special Forces Association Chapter XXV and several other military organizations. He is survived by his wife Ann of 55 years; sons Brad and Jon; daughters-in-law Carmenza, Debby; and grandchildren Keegan, Jordyn and Wyatt; his brother Marshal; sister-in-law Pat; nephews Kenneth, Robby, David and Steve; nieces, Mary Henderson and Kathy Henderson; sister Betty; as well as several other nephews and nieces. He was also instrumental in the nurturing and mentoring of several young people throughout his life and therefore adopted them in spirit, one such person he was especially close to is Sgt.1st Class Carl Pucker, United States Army. Service will be held at RIPLINGER FUNERAL HOME, 4305 N. DIVISION, SPOKANE, 1100 on April 15, 2011 followed by a full military service and presentation of the flag at the Washington State Veterans Cemetery, Medical Lake, WA at 1330. In lieu of flowers it was Paul’s wishes to donate to the Wounded Warrior Project at WoundedWarriorProject.org.
