Robert "Bob" Creel

January 20, 1920 — April 10, 2011

Robert James (Bob) Creel was born on January 20, 1920 in Casey, Illinois; entered into rest April 10, 2011 in Spokane, WA. Bob lived all but one year of his life in Spokane. He attended North Centeral High School and worked many odd jobs to help his family. He joined the Coast Guard in 1942 as a ships Cook First Class, hence the nickname "Cookie". He was proud to serve his country and was honorably discharged in 1946. Bob married the love of his life, Loris, in 1947 and they were married for 63 years. They bought their one and only home on Dalke in North Spokane, where they raised their family of six children and he was fondly known as "The Mayor of Dalke Street". Bob is survived by his wife, Loris Creel; children, Barbara Seabolt (Stoney), Richard Hedquist (Bonnie), Janet LaFara (John), Cheryl Sontag (David), Garry Creel (Debbie) and Tara Ostlind (Lonn); numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren. He was a lifetime member of the Eagles Lodge, a proud father, husband, brother and a friend to many. Services will be held on Friday, April 15, 2011 at 2:15 pm at the Washington State Veterans Cemetery, 21702 W. Espanola Rd., Medical Lake, WA. Followed by a Celebration of Life at the Eagles Lodge, 6410 N. Lidgerwood at 3:30 PM. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to Hospice of Spokane, P.O. Box 2215, Spokane, WA 99210.
