Raymond B. Myers, D.D.S.

May 28, 1925 — July 10, 2011

Passed into eternal peace on July 10th, 2011 while in the comfort of his home surrounded by his family. Born on May 28, 1925 in Cartwright, ND where he was raised on the family farm. Ray joined the U.S. Marines at age 18 and served during WW II. He attended Gonzaga University and went on to Marquette University where he Graduated with a Doctorate of Dental Surgery. He met his beloved wife, Mary at age 30 and was with her for 45 years. Ray liked team sports and flying, but his real joy was his children and grandchildren. He was a very warm and loving father. Dad always found time for his kids and grandkids. Ray was born to William and Anna Myers. He is preceded in death by Ernie, Claude, Art, Ed, Bobby, Donald, Alice and Glenn. He is survived by his younger brother, Harold. Ray practiced Dentistry in Spokane for 38 years. Dad was charitable. He volunteered at the House of Good Sheppard, donated his services to those serving the church and always served the poor and less fortunate. One of Ray's greatest pleasures was spending time at the family lake cabin on Loon Lake. He always found time for his kids to play cards, sit by the fire and take canoe trips. His grandchildren now enjoy those things at that same cabin. Ray was preceded in death by his wife, Mary and daughter, Mary Anna. He is survived by his children, Michelle Richardson (Tom), Francis (Samaa), Daniel, Raymond Joseph (Kim), Donald (Nikki), Thomas (Mary) and Jeffrey. Ray was a devoted grandfather to Anna, Bobbi (Jon), Tommy, Baynton, Katheryn, Brendon, Joey, Raymond, Abby, Dante, Sammy, Joel, Thomas, Elizabeth, Lydia and Benjamin. Ray was the "adopted" grandfather to numerous young boys and girls who attended St. Thomas More Parish and Mead. Dad passed peacefully in the loving arms of his children and grandchildren. We will always be grateful for that moment. Visitation will be held on Wednesday and Thursday from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM at RIPLINGER FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORY, 4305 N. DIVIISION, SPOKANE, WA. Rosary will be on Thursday, July 14, 2011 at 7:00 PM at St. Thomas More Parish, 505 W. St. Thomas More Way, Spokane. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, July 15, 2011 at 11:00 AM at St. Thomas More Parish. Interment with military honors will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery.
