Aage Hval passed away peacefully in his sleep at his home in Chattaroy, WA on July 21st, 2011 and into the arms of Jesus. Aage was born at his family’s farm in Lardal, Norway on October 4th, 1940. He graduated from school at the age of 14 and went to work for the Ford Motor plant, where he was made foreman by age 18. At 19 he was accepted into the engineering program at University of Gothenburg in Sweden, and decided before starting classes to visit his uncle in California and see a bit of America. During this visit he was drafted into the American Military and stationed at Fort Lewis, WA. One night he went out cruising with some friends and caught the eye of a girl in another car named Juanita Dunham. Aage married Juanita on November 3rd, 1962 and they spent the next 48 years together taking on all the world had to offer with love and laughter. After living in Southern California for 13 years they decided in 1976 to move to Chattaroy, WA because the natural scenery reminded Aage of his boyhood home in Norway. Also in 1976 Aage embarked on a successful 35 year career as a Manufacturer’s Representative in the Machine Tool Industry. In business he had a reputation as a good, honest man who treated others fairly and with respect. The center of Aage’s life was his family and he raised his four children, Derek Hval (Cindy), Darrol Hval (Susan), Camille Jordalen (Kjell), and Celena Hval (Lloyd Woodall) to be loyal, honest, hardworking, good humored, and generous. Through the years Aage has undertaken countless numbers of car, machine, and home repairs for his friends and family. He always did all the work himself and never took anything in return- he saw it as an opportunity to show others how much he loved them. In a life that was so full of laughter and love, his greatest joy was his fourteen grandchildren: Bettina, Ethan, Jon Aage, Kristian, Alex, Kristoffer, Kelly, Zachary, Kooper, Aaron, Sam, Elizabeth, Mary, and Zira. Please join his family in celebrating Aage’s life at a memorial service on Saturday, July 30th at Turning Point Church, 11911 N. Division St, at 1:00 pm. In lieu of flowers please send donations to Wycliffe Bible Translators: PO Box 628200, Orlando, FL 32862 or online at www.wycliffe.org.
