Kenneth Judd Porter (age 82) entered into rest on August 26, 2011. Ken served in the Marine Corps during WWII and Korea where he received the Purple Heart. He was a life time member of DAV #6 and VFW 1474. He leaves behind daughter, Sandra deQuant of Burlingame, CA; son, Darrell (Trisha) Porter of Usk, WA; and Jeri (Ken) Fletcher of Spokane, Valley; daughter-in-law, Lisa Porter of Spokane; two sisters, Pearl Wilson and Alice (Dick) Gingrich; sister-in-law, Illa Cain; seven grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, he was truly “grandpa” to all the kids that walked through his door; numerous nieces, nephews, and dear friends. Big hugs to special grandson’s Ryan and Scott, GRAMPS couldn’t have done it without you boys. Ken was preceded in death by his parents, a twin brother, Keith (Korea), his loving wife of 54 years, Jeannie, and beloved son Dennis. A gathering at Kenny’s house E. 2229 Longfellow in Spokane will be Thursday, September 1, 2011 beginning at 1:00PM. This will be a potluck event/BYOB and a chair. Memorial donations can be made to Hospice of Spokane or to the VFW 1474 building fund. Semper Fi old man, we will miss you.
