Mildred M. Keating

November 23, 1918 — September 22, 2011

Mildred Keating, our beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend passed away on September 22nd. Born November 23, 1918 in Craig, Colorado to Ida (Spielman) and Ernest Haynes, she was one of seven siblings. Mildred passed from this world into the Lord’s arms on September 22, 2011. She was lovingly married to Edwin Keating from 1938 to 1986. Longtime parishioners who helped build Mary Queen Parish she was also a member of the Altar Society and St. Monica’s Guild. When she moved to San Souci she became an active member of St. Joseph’s Parish where she continued to lead others in their spiritual journey as a member of numerous committees. Her volunteerism at Our Place, a multidenominational charity, demonstrated how her far reaching love for her fellow human beings was boundless. We were all inspired by her life of grace and devotion. She is survived by her loving children: Kitty Bradley, Melvin Keating (Beverley); her much beloved grandchildren Scot Bradley (Cathi), Shawn Sheller (John), Dawn Berstler (Mark), Sparky Keating, and seven great-grandchildren Robert Bradley (Barbara), and Doug Berstler, Jacob Berstler, Marsielle Bradley (Nick), Keagan Berstler, Calvin Berstler, and Kaylee Sheller, her siblings Jim Haynes, Vi Kenck and Ervin Haynes, and all the children of her brothers and sisters. She was predeceased by her grandson Andy Bradley, her brothers, Al, Leo, and Jack Haynes. Vigil will be held for all who wish to come on Friday, September 30th at 5:30 pm at St. Joseph’s Church, W 1503 Dean Ave Spokane, WA 99201. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Joseph’s Church on Saturday, October 1st, at 10 AM. A potluck reception will follow at San Souci Club House. Please wear bright clothing to celebrate Mildred’s life and in lieu of flowers send donations to Our Place Ministries at 1509 West College Avenue Spokane, WA 99201-1917.
