Florence "Ann" Root

Florence Annebelle "Ann" Root(Age 86) - Born on November 13, 1924 in England, Arkansas to Clifton and Mamie Sample. Entered into rest on October 11, 2011 in Spokane, Washington. Ann in survived by her companion of 25 years, Eugene Boughter; son and daughter-in-law, Lou and JuDee Vandenburg; daughter, Connie Love; daughter and son-in-law, Sandy and Bill Alderson; sister, Ruth Umberger; 9 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. She is preceded in death by her husband, Charles T. Root; granddaughter, Carrie Lynette Love; sister, Connie Cole; aunts, Pearl Bunyard and Bertha May; and sister-in-law, June Hunt. Ann was a lifetime member of V.F.W. Post #51, V.F.W. Aux. Past President from 1989-1990, former member of the Eagles Lodge Aerie #2 and B.O.F. Lodge of Spokane. She also volunteered in the gift shop at Holy Family Hospital for many years and at the bloodbank for 17 years. A service will be held on Monday, October 17, 2011 at 11:00 AM at RIPLINGER FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORY, 4305 N. DIVISION, SPOKANE, WA. Interment will follow at Greenwood Memorial Terrrace, Spokane, WA. Memorial contributions may be made to the the V.F.W. #51, Building Fund, 300 W. Mission Ave., Spokane, WA 99201.
