PETERSON, Jean M. (age 71) – Entered into rest on October 16th, 2011 in Spokane, WA. Born to Byron and Minnie Thompson on April 24, 1940 in Kalispell, MT, Jean attended local schools and graduated from Flathead High School. She married Allan T. Peterson and they shared 53 wonderful years together. Jean worked as a bank teller early on and moved to the Spokane area with her family around 1974. She worked at the Hillyard Safeway Store as a courtesy clerk for many years retiring in 2006. Jean made many- many friends while helping people at Safeway. She loved people. Jean also was a great homemaker and Mom. She is survived by her husband, Allan, at their Mead home; daughter, Cheryl Lynn Peterson of Auburn, WA; son, Kenneth Peterson of Otis Orchards, WA; brother, Pat Thompson of Salem, OR; grandson, Ian Fisher; granddaughters, Alyssa Peterson and Arianna Davidson; numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation for family and friends will be on Wednesday, October 19th, 2011 between the hours of 9 AM and 8 PM at Riplinger Funeral Home. Funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 20, 2011 at 11:30 AM at RIPLINGER FUNERAL HOME, 4305 N DIVISION, SPOKANE, WA, 99207 (483-8558), Pastor Jim Johnson officiating. Private interment will take place at Glacier Memorial Gardens, Kalispell, MT. Memorials may be made to St. Luke Lutheran Church, or to the charity of donor’s choice.
