James "Jim" Egger

JAMES P. “Jim” Egger (age 68) Born on December 6, 1943 in Chewelah, WA to Pete and Bernie Egger entered into rest on December 6, 2011 in Spokane, WA. Jim is survived by his wife of 44 years, Linda; daughter, Debi (Paul) Mackey; son, Dean Egger; grandsons, Brad Egger, Aidan and Aaron Mackey; his mother, Bernie Egger; sister, Sharon (Fred) Tanner; brother, Ray (SueAnn) Egger; sister, Janet (Don) McLaughlin; numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Pete Egger in June 2010. Jim was part owner of Riplinger Funeral Home in Spokane before retiring in 1998. He loved family gatherings at the cabin on Loon Lake. Jim enjoyed following sports, especially, when it involved his grandsons. His primary love was watching his Thoroughbreds race at Playfair Race Course in Spokane and Turf Paradise in Phoenix, AZ. Visitation will be Saturday, December 10 from 2:00PM – 5:00PM and on Sunday, December 11 from 12 Noon – 5:00PM at RIPLINGER FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORY 4305 N. Division in Spokane. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Monday, December 12, 2011 beginning at 11:00AM at St. Thomas More Parish, 515 W. St. Thomas More Way, Spokane. Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery. The family would like to send a special thank you to Dr. Stephen Anthony and his staff, to the nursing staff on the 3rd floor at Providence Holy Family Hospital, as well as, to the staff at the Hospice House for all their care and support. Memorial contributions can be made in Jim’s name to the American Cancer Society 920 N. Washington Suite 200 Spokane, WA 99201 and/or to the Spokane Humane Society 6607 N. Havana St. Spokane, WA 99217.
