"Peggy" Lila M. Durland

Lila M. “Peggy” Durland(age 83) went to be with her Lord on December 8, 2011. She was born May 21, 1928 in Plains, Montana to Benjamin and Edna Miller. Peggy moved to Spokane as a teenager where she attended North Central High School and worked as a Nanny. She graduated from high school in 1946 and went to work at the Post Street Bakery. Peggy married Bob Durland and together they raised three sons, Terry, Kevin and Ken. She volunteered for many organizations including Holy Family Hospital, the Spokane Veteran’s Hospital, and World Bible Study. Peggy was a member of the Northside Church of Christ for over sixty years. She was preceded in death by her husband Robert “Bob” and is survived by her three sons; siblings, Mike Miller, Midge Breen, Esther Larsen, and Joyce Holcomb; grandsons, Perry Johnson, Lee Johnson, Rob Durland, and Chad Durland; great grandchildren, Gabe, Claira, and Leah. Visitation will be Monday, December 12 from 3:00PM – 8:00PM at RIPLINGER FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORY 4305 N. DIVISION SPOKANE, WA. Service will begin at 11:00AM on Tuesday, December 13, 2011 at the Northside Church of Christ 5601 N. Jefferson St., Spokane, WA 99205. Donations may be made in her name to the Northside Church of Christ.
