Francell M. "Fran" Rose (age 93) was born to Emmett and Vina Burns on March 12, 1918 in Ritzville, WA and passed away peacefully at home on December 19, 2011. Mom moved to Spokane in 1919 and was a lifetime resident. After graduating from North Central High School, she became a window dresser for Zuckers and Bernards. Fran went on to become an integral part of the Head Start Program here in Spokane, from its inception until she retired in 1994. She was twice married. She first married Wally Hagin, having Wallyne and Wallace Hagin III (who preceded her in death), and then to Don Rose, having Kim and Tina. Fran purchased her home in 1954, and remained there until her passing. She was an avid gardener and was well known (and loved) throughout her community. Fran was also a member of both Calvary Baptist and Morning Star Baptist Church. Fran leaves behind three children, Wallyne Boone, Kim and Tina Rose; four grandchildren, Tracy Wellington, Cindy (Jeff) Donaldson, Kamilah (Chris) Burnette, and Morgan Rose; six great grandchildren, Kyndric and Ember, Nichole and Jeffrey, Maya and Nathan. Mom will be sorely missed, but through our faith in God, we know that one day we will be reunited. There will be a graveside service at Fairmount Memorial Park beginning at 10:00AM on Tuesday, December 27, 2011, and a "Celebration of Life" at the Bethel AME Church will be held in March of 2012.
