Carl was born in Tacoma, Washington then moved with his family to Idaho as a youngster. He enlisted in the Navy at age 17 and served in World War II for 2 years on aircraft carriers in the Pacific. He returned to Idaho to marry Rita and they had 2 children. Rodney a son, killed in Vietnam in 1969 and surviving daughter, Debra Turner, 56 who resides in California. He worked in construction and was a member of the Washington/Idaho Operating Engineers Union for 50 years. He relocated to Spokane 25 years ago, married Mary Ann Wright and they retired to Orient, WA to a custom cabin they built. Carl enjoyed hot rod cars, a drink of whiskey with friends, was a great wit and was a friend to the animal wild life of their remote home. He lived alone after his second wife passed away in 2002 and Carl most recently was a resident of Parkview Assisted Living in Colville, WA. No funeral services will he held.
