Muriel F. Oberg

Muriel (Smith) Oberg passed into the loving arms of her Lord and Savior on Saturday, Jan. 14, 2012. Muriel was born on Nov. 5, 1935 in her Aunt’s log cabin near Newport, WA. to her parents George and Rena Smith. She married Leonard Oberg in 1954 and together raised 4 children in Spokane. She went to work for Pacific NW. Bell in 1954 and retired from Quest in 1991. Muriel enjoyed working in her garden, fishing, traveling to the ocean, her Mustang Cobra GT, luncheons with the “Lavender Ladies”, and especially family get togethers. She spent several years as a den mom and spent many hours doing volunteer work with the “Pioneers”. She is survived by her 2 brothers and 1 sister, 4 children, and 7 grandchildren and many cousins. She was a dedicated home-maker, loving mother, and good friend who will be missed by all. A memorial service will be held at Chattaroy Community Church, 3711 E. Chattaroy Rd. on January 21, 2012 at 1 p.m.
