Helen M Weinert

March 8, 1915 — April 5, 2012

Helen “Marr” Weinert – Our Loving Mother was born at home in Valley, WA on March 8, 1915 to Artie and Emma Dunlap. She graduated from Valley H.S. and traveled to Juneau, where she met and married Arthur Jensen. They eventually settled in Spokane. She worked at Holy Family for many years. She married Ernest Weinert in 1975. Marr did lots of volunteer work. In 1997, she was awarded the VFW Volunteer of the Year for the State of WA. She received awards for Koats for Kids, Project Hope, RSVP, the Head Start Program, Hillyard Senior Center, and numerous other volunteer services. She is survived by one brother, Richard “Dick” Dunlap; a sister-in-law, Eloise Dunlap; four children, Sharon McLaurie, Karen Foote, James Jensen, and Richard Jensen; one step-daughter, Carlin Jude (Jim); also by Pauline Weinert (the widow of her step-son, Larry); thirteen grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. A sincere thanks to Hospice House of Spokane and their entire staff for their wonderful care and support. In lieu of flowers, the family wishes for any donations in her memory to be made to the Hospice House of Spokane. A Memorial Service will be held on April 13th, 2012 at 2:00 PM at RIPLINGER FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORY, 4305 N DIVISION, SPOKANE, WA 99207.
