Fay "Kay" Kohlieber

Kohlieber, Fay Nell Elva “Kay” (age 89) the last offspring in the Margaret and James Miles family, was born on September 29, 1922, in Ferry County, Washington, on what was then called the Alex Simpson Place. Fay’s grandfather was Samuel Livingston, a gold prospector and fur trader. He is credited with cultivating the first land in Calgary, Alberta. His early log cabin, built for his wife and 14 children has been relocated to Heritage Park in Calgary and is open to the public. In 1929, her father and mother moved to Colville, where Fay attended school, and grew to adulthood. She married Cecil LeRoy Kohlieber on June 21, 1941, in Coeur d’Alene, ID. After the children grew up Fay and Cecil bought 25 acres of land in Colbert where they built their own house and other farm buildings. Kay is preceded in death by her husband, Cecil Kohlieber and her youngest son, Randy Kohlieber. She is survived by a son, Dennis; daughter, Sherrie; several grandchildren and great grandchildren. Viewing will be at RIPLINGER FUNERAL HOME 4305 N. DIVISION SPOKANE, WA on Friday, April 20 from 9:00AM – 5:00PM and Saturday, April 21 from 9:00AM – 12 Noon. Graveside service will be on Saturday, April 21, 2012 beginning at 3:00PM at Riverside Memorial Park Cemetery.
