Vera A. Spaulding (age 91) entered into rest on April 16, 2012 at her home in Clayton, WA surrounded by her children. Vera was born in Spokane, WA on November 13, 1920 and moved to Clayton a short time later. She graduated from Deer Park High School in 1938 and then attended St. Luke’s Hospital for nurses’ training in Spokane, graduating in 1941. Vera married Jack Spaulding on October 18, 1941, and they moved to Seattle. She worked at West Seattle General Hospital until she moved back to the family homestead in Clayton in 1975. Jack preceded Vera in death, in 2004. She is survived by son, George Spaulding of Clayton; two daughters, Gayle Dwyer and Christina McWade both of Seattle, WA; grandchildren, Troy, Stacy, Jill, Jacob, Ryan, Jamie, Lacey, Clayton; seven great grandchildren. Graveside service will be held at Zion Hill Cemetery in Deer Park, WA at 2:00PM on Sunday, May 27, 2012. A celebration of Vera’s life will follow at the home of George Spaulding.
