William "Bill" W. Olsen (Age 72) - It is with great sorrow that we say goodbye to a loving father, brother, friend and the best husband his wife could ask for. On June 4th, Bill walked through the Valley of the Shadow of Death, but was not afraid as Jesus was with him. He is now healthy, free of pain, and whole! Bill was born October 11, 1939 to William and Kathryn Olsen and grew up in Oakland, CA with his sister, Lois. He lost his dad as a young boy. Bill married in Oakland and had a daughter, Andrea, but when the marriage ended in 1971 he decided to leave the big city for Montana. During the trek his car broke down in Spokane and there he stayed. He began his career as a wholesale salesman in California for RCA and continued in Spokane working for Franks Electronics and Mid-Mountain Electronics. In 1980, he changed to retail sales at the downtown Crescent in the TV and Stereo department, and worked there until health caused an early retirement. While at the Crescent he was named "Salesman of the Year". In 1978, he married Kirby and gained a stepdaughter, Leanne. In 1978 Bill and Kirby were blessed with their daughter Jennifer. During their amazing 33 years of marriage they enjoyed traveling to the ocean, spending time with their grandchildren and going on picnic, camping or drives in the country. He is survived by his sister Lois Valva, his wife Kirby, daughters Andrea Olsen, Leanne Dechand (Mike), Jennifer Olsen (Shannon) nine grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Those who loved him knew him as a generous, intelligent, loving man who will be greatly missed! He was a longtime friend of Bill W. A celebration of his life will be at Family of Faith Community Church 708 W. Nora, on June 15th at 11am. All are welcome to attend.
