McNally, George C. Our beloved husband, Dad, Pop, and friend died peacefully on September 9, 2012. George was born on December 17, 1930 to George and Florence McNally in Seattle, WA. After graduating from Bothell High School, George enlisted in the military and was stationed at Williams Air Force Base in Mesa, AZ. There he met the woman who would become his wife of 57 years, Norma Lindley, at a dance. The two were married a few months later on August 20, 1955 in Seattle where George attended Seattle University and began his career in sales. George and Norma moved to Portland with their daughters and lived there 43 years, until relocating to Spokane in 2007. George was a warm, humble, funny, and gentle man devoted to his family. He had an insatiable thirst for knowledge and never met a stranger. In his last 18 months, he often said he had lived a wonderful life and had no regrets. George is survived by his soul mate, Norma; daughters, Michelle "Mitch" Solberg (Tom) and Cheri McNally; grandchildren, Erik Solberg, Morgaine Stamme (Brian), Mallory Hall (fiancé Eric Wilson), and Kristen Solberg; and innumerable others he would consider family. Our family would like to thank the staff at Rockwood Clinic and Hospice for their loving care and support. Please join us for a celebration of George's life at the Southside Senior Center in Spokane at 1:00PM Saturday, September 29, 2012. In lieu of flowers, a donation in his honor may be made to the Southside Senior Center 3151 E. 27th Ave., Spokane, WA 99223.
