Evelyn Julia Anderson (Hartman) was born May 21, 1928 in Ellensburg, WA to August and Ella Hartman. The youngest of 3 children, her family farmed in the Swauk Valley near Cle Elum. Evelyn graduated from Cle Elum High School, moved to Spokane where she met Phillip Anderson whom she married September 9, 1951. Married 58 years until his death in March 2010, they raised four children Loretta (Phillip) Holbrook of Walton, KY, Dale (Debbie) Anderson, Douglas (Susan) Anderson, and Glen (Ellen) Anderson, all of Spokane. Evelyn was dedicated to her family and the Foothills Community Church. She loved being active outdoors, gardening, and walking. She enjoyed, baking, sewing and was an excellent manager of the household. Evelyn suffered multiple strokes and was moved to Sunshine Gardens in 2008 where she lived until she went to the Lord. Heartfelt thanks to the Peachtree staff for their loving care. She is survived by her children; and by brothers, Donald (Ruth) Hartman and Kenneth Hartman of Ellensburg: grandchildren David (Charlene) Anderson, William (Christine) Anderson, Robert (Alisa) Smith, Michelle Smith, Tricia Anderson, Casandra Anderson, Jane (Jerremy) Clark, Mark Anderson, Amanda Nezzie; and 7 great grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister-in-law, Connie (Bob) Battles, six nieces and one nephew. A celebration of her life is planned Thursday, October 11, 2012, 11-1 pm at Foothills Community Center, 11102 N. Forker Road, Spokane.
