Charmion "Charmy" Hobbs

March 21, 1936 — October 25, 2012

Charmion “Charmy” Jean (Skarset) Hobbs was born March 21, 1936 in Windom, MN to Dan and Alice (Rose) Skarset. The family moved to Spokane in 1942. Charmy attended Regal Grade School, graduated from Rogers High School and attended EWU for a year. She worked for a time as a receptionist for a doctor’s office and also in the accounting department of the Old National Bank. On August 30, 1957, Charmy married her loving husband of over 55 years, Fred R. Hobbs. Charmy became a “stay at home mom” when their children were born, which she enjoyed very much. As a result of a fall, Charmy had some on-going medical problems that worsened, doing a great deal of damage to her left arm. Charmy was a very cheerful person, she loved the outdoors, but the light of her life was her grandchildren. Spending time at Lake Sacheen, whether she was there with family and friends, or just her and the dogs, was her favorite activity for the past 25 years. Charmy loved to travel and had the opportunity to travel to Europe (a couple of times), Australia, Russia, Mexico, and all over the US. She is survived by her husband, Fred; daughter, Kimberly Kay (Richard) Moorhead; son, Mark Hobbs; grandsons, Stephan Moorhead, Geoff Moorhead, Skylar Moorhead; granddaughter, Taryn Moorhead; several nieces and nephews; two dogs; and a cat. Charmy was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, James and Ronald; and her sister, Judith. A memorial service has been planned for Sunday, January 6, 2013 at Riplinger Funeral Home 4305 N. Division in Spokane beginning at 2:00PM. “We all miss her very much”.
