Lorraine Elizabeth Martin

December 2, 1919 — January 20, 2013

LORRAINE E. MARTIN (12/2/1919 - 1/20/2013) MARTIN, Lorraine Elizabeth (Lesher), age 93, passed away on Sunday, January 20th, at Providence Hospital in Everett, WA. Her daughter Deborah was by her side. Lorraine was born in Rockford, IL, the only child of Harry and Maude Lesher. She married Lynn Park Martin on March 7, 1946 in Decatur, IL. They moved to the Pacific Northwest with their two children in 1960, living on a farm just north of Spokane. Lorraine was an AVON representative in that area for a number of years. Lynn & Lorraine were avid dancers and could often be found at the Elks, Eagles, BOF, or VFW on Friday and Saturday nights. They loved the "big band" music of the '30s and '40s. They also enjoyed their "coffee gang" that met regularly at Rosauers. Lorraine was blessed with many special, long-time friends who have kept in contact over the years with their numerous calls, cards and letters. She will be missed by every life she touched. Special thanks to caregivers Rose, Oscar and Cheryl who will always be considered part of the family. Lorraine was preceded in death by her husband Lynn and her son Harry Lynn Martin. She is survived by her daughter, Deborah Martin of Everett, WA; sister-in-law Catherine Martin of Parrish, FL; a niece and several nephews. A memorial service is planned for February 9th at 1:00 pm at Fowler United Methodist Church, 3928 N. Howard, where Lorraine was a long-time member. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial donations be made to Union Gospel Mission (www.ugmspokane.org).
