Harry L Wicklund

Wicklund, Harry L. 1927 – 2013   Harry passed away on Monday, January 28, 2013.  He was born July 29, 1927 in Chicago, IL to Oscar and Paula Wicklund.  Harry was preceded in death by his loving wife, Molly in 2011, his parents, and granddaughter, Angelica.  He is survived by his children, Marilyn Larson, Janice (Jim) Lahde, Allan (Debbie) Wicklund, Steve Wicklund, Katie Daniels, Carol (George) McDaniel, JoAnne (Gary) Purvis, and Paula (Tom) Mims; 11 grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; and one great-great grandson.   Harry and his parents moved to Spokane in 1932 and settled on Moran Prairie.  He was a graduate of Lewis and Clark High School.  Harry served in the US Navy.  He was a salesman for Homelite Chainsaws and retired after 32 years.  Harry and wife Molly farmed on Green Bluff for 30 years and owned Wicklund’s Apple Lane Orchards before retiring to Sun City West, AZ.  He and Molly returned to live in Spokane in 2011.  Harry was a charter member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church and also a member of St. Luke’s Lutheran and Messiah Lutheran.  The family would like to thank the owner and staff of Willow Grove Home for their loving care of our Dad over the past few months and also to Hospice of Spokane for their support and kindness in Dad’s final days.  Funeral service will begin at 2:30PM on Saturday, February 9, 2013 in the Sunset Chapel on the grounds of Fairmount Memorial Park with interment to follow.  Pastor Bud Thompson will be officiating.
