Ethel L. Johnson (age 87) – Passed away peacefully surrounded by her immediate family on April 16, 2013 in Spokane, WA. Born in Wenatchee, WA on November 27, 1925, Ethel was a 60 year resident of Spokane. She was a graduate of Jenkins High School in Chewelah, WA and also of Kinman Business College of Spokane. She was a member of Salem Lutheran Church, active in Job’s Daughters, and spent hours volunteering at the Shriner’s Hospital for Children. Ethel enjoyed puzzles, stitchery, traveling, and time spent with her family. She was preceded in death by her husband, Arden in 1995; by her parents, Frank and Margaret Tupling; her brother, Bill Tupling; and by her sister, Elizabeth Rainer. She is survived by her son, Dick Johnson (Diette) of Peoria, AZ; her daughters, Diane Davisson (Fred) of Spokane, Denise Barnes (Don) of Mesa Arizona, and by Debbie Andres of Spokane; by sisters, Stel Tupling of Spokane, June Wallace and Carol Kjack both of Rosalia, WA; five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Visitation for family and friends will be Thursday, April 18th between 9a.m. and 5p.m. at RIPLINGER FUNERAL HOME, 4305 N DIVISION, SPOKANE, WA. Funeral service will be held on Friday, April 19th, 2013 at 11:00 A.M. at Riplinger Funeral Home with interment to follow at 1:00 P.M. at Fairmount Memorial Park Cemetery.
