Mindy M. (Harvey) Kelso-Mikoski was born in Spokane on February 8, 1958. She graduated from Lewis & Clark High School in 1976. During her childhood, she enjoyed spending summers with the family at Coeur d’Alene Lake. After high school, Mindy attended WSU and went on to start her career as an Activities Director for the elderly in Vancouver, WA. This led her to creating a pet therapy program called Mindy’s Best Friends & Therapy Animals. Her animals were enjoyed by all. She was also very involved with pot-bellied pig groups. She spent several years training and showing pigs. Mindy had a love for all creatures large and small. On September 26, 2007, she married Mark Mikoski. He soon became an animal advocate as he helped her care for a variety of animals on their five acre farm in the Suncrest area. They loved going to the stock car races and spending time together. Mindy was preceded in death by her mother, Beverly Barnett and her step-mother, Marion Harvey. She is survived by her husband Mark Mikoski; her father, John Harvey; two brothers, John (Marilyn) Harvey and Marc Harvey; her sister, Melissa (Paul) Danelo; several cousins, nieces and nephews. Our hearts are broken and Mindy will be missed by all of us, including her furry friends. A memorial service will be scheduled at a later date.
