WALSH, Jay R. (age 55) - Born November 12, 1957 to Robert and Geraldine (Gurske) Walsh, Jay entered into rest on June 19, 2013 in Spokane, WA. Jay grew up in the Spokane area, graduating from Mead H.S. in 1976. He then attended Spokane Community College prior to settling in Meridian, ID. He served as a Sgt.-Avionic Navigation System Specialist with the Air Force, WA Air National Guard, and the Idaho National Guard. Jay also worked for the Hewlett-Packard Boise, ID office as a Technician trouble shooting disk drives, electronic boards. Then he worked in the calibration lab and the clean room for Inkjet pens. Finally, he assisted in the Laser Jet Test Lab. For relaxation, Jay enjoyed airbrush painting model planes, cars, etc. He also loved riding his motorcycle and was in the process of restoring his 60 T-Bird Sunroof. Most of all, he enjoyed hanging out with his work friends. Jay is survived by his mother, Geraldine R. Walsh in Spokane, WA; a niece, Amber Davis of Black Diamond, WA; a sister-in-law, Sharon Clayton of Sequim, WA; an uncle, Jim Walsh (and his wife, Jennifer) of Colville, WA; an uncle and aunt, Richard and Lala Gurske of Salt Lake City, UT; and numerous cousins. He was preceded in death by: his brother, Lee Walsh; his father, Bob Walsh; grandparents, Jim and Evelyn Walsh, and Gerald and Hazel Gurske; and by an Uncle Vic Gurske. His Uncle Jim called Jay “The Gentle Giant”. Visitation will be June 25 & 26, Tuesday and Wednesday, between the hours of 9 AM and 5 PM at Riplinger Funeral Home. Funeral service will be held on Thursday, June 27th, 2013 at 1:00 PM at the CHAPEL OF FLOWERS, RIPLINGER FUNERAL HOME, 4305 N DIVISION, SPOKANE, WA 99207.
