Leonel "Lee" E. Picard

July 14, 1930 — August 3, 2013

Leonel “Lee” Edward Picard (age 83) entered peacefully into rest on August 3, 2013 with his three daughters and a granddaughter by his side. Born on July 14, 1930 in Fargo, ND, Lee and his family moved to Spokane when he was just 2 years old. He graduated from North Central High School and serviced nine years in the US Navy. He married Mamie Louise Picard and together they shared 57 years together before her passing in 2010. Lee received a Bachelor’s degree from Devry Technical Institute and worked as a Communications Service Supervisor. His first love was sailing, but he also enjoyed working as an artist and wood carving. Lee was a “Best Friend” to many, a generous man, and he will be greatly missed. He is survived by children, Kathleen L. Miller, Bradley J. Picard, Linda A. Picard-Sprague, and Susan M. Picard; 11 grandchildren; and 10 great grandchildren. Lee was preceded in death by his loving wife Mamie Louise Picard; his daughter, Pamela Jean Picard; and his sister, Chic E. Picard. In lieu of flowers, family suggests donations in Lee’s name be made to the Partners for Pets PO Box 354 Spokane Valley, WA 99037. Graveside service will begin at 1:00PM Tuesday, August 13, 2013 at Holy Cross Cemetery 7200 N Wall in Spokane followed by a reception at the Northpointe Community Center 1110 E. Westview Ct. Spokane, WA 99218.
