Norma D. McNally (age 79) Our beloved Mom, Grandma, and Friend passed away peacefully on August 8, 2013 due to multiple myeloma. Norma Dean (Lindley) McNally was born on June 27, 1934 in Durant, OK, moved to Glendale, AZ as a child and graduated from Glendale Union High school in 1952. She met George McNally at a dance in 1954 while he was stationed at Williams AFB in Chandler, AZ. They were married on August 20, 1955 in Seattle where their two daughters were born. Norma and George moved to Portland in 1964 and Norma began her career in the antiques business. In 2007, they left many old friends behind and moved to Spokane where they both volunteered at the Southside Senior Center, made wonderful new friends, and Norma incessantly complained about the snow. Norma and George were truly married to their best friends for 57 years before his death on September 9, 2012. Norma made friends effortlessly with her easy, sincere personality and welcoming smile. She is greatly missed. Norma is survived by her daughters Michelle “Mitch” Solberg and husband Tom and Cheri McNally; grandchildren, Erik Solberg, Morgaine Stamme (Brian), Mallory Wilson (Eric), and Kristen Solberg; and innumerable others she would consider family. Our family would like to thank the staff at Alderwood Manor for their care and compassion for the last weeks of Norma’s life. Thank you also to the people of the Rockwood Clinic for the years of caring for both Norma and George. Please join us for a celebration of Norma’s life at the Southside Senior Center at 11:00AM Saturday, August 24, 2013. In lieu of flowers, a donation in her honor may be made to the Southside Senior Center, 3151 East 27th Ave., Spokane, WA 99223.
