William Dale Whitehead (age 57) passed away May 27, 2013 in Spokane, WA. He is survived by his wife of 30 years Joann Whitehead, mother and father Jim and Frances Whitehead, daughters Sheena VanWagoner (Terreno), Ashley Hanshaw (Charlie), and Amber Whitehead (Kirby), grandchildren Draven, Taj, Hannah, Rylee, Chad, Cloie, Tessa, and Rylee. He has three sisters, Debby Williams (Anthony), Vicki Collis (Darrick), Teri Helberg (Eric), and brother Mike Whitehead (Kathy), sisters in law Lynn Austin (Paul), Gerry Murphy (Mike), brothers in law Les VanWagoner (Diane), Paul VanWagoner (Karen), along with numerous nieces and nephews. William “Bill” was born October, 28 1955 in Yakima, WA. He joined the Army in 1973 and 9 years later married the love of his life. He received his GED in 1990 and attended college in Walla Walla where he received a degree in Programmable Controllers. He later moved his family to Spokane, WA and worked for The Spokane Transit Authority as a bus driver. He enjoyed spending time with his wife, daughters, grandchildren, fishing, hunting, movies, and making people laugh. He was a great husband, father, and friend to all who knew him and had the most caring open heart. He drew everyone in with his charismatic laugh which could distinctively be heard from a block away. Heaven has truly gained an angel and he will forever be missed. A memorial service will be held this Friday August 23rd at the VA Cemetery in Medical Lake at 2:15. A celebration of life memorial will be held at the Fellowship Church in Spokane, WA to follow.
