Lynda Joanne (Lamb) Blair

September 25, 1946 — October 13, 2013

BLAIR, Lynda Joanne (Lamb), age 67, passed away October 13, 2013 at Hospice House in Spokane, Washington following a diagnosis of terminal brain cancer on October 4th. She was born on September 25, 1946 to June and Lloyd Lamb in Spokane, Washington. Lynda graduated from Lewis and Clark High School before attending WSU. It was there that Lynda met her husband, married and had two daughters, Heidi and Heather. In her younger days, Lynda worked for her father delivering airline tickets after school for Broberg Travel. She went on to work for Hughes Airwest, where she was able to travel to Germany for Octoberfest. In 1983, Lynda moved, with her two young daughters, to Cheney, Washington where she raised her children while working at Key Tronic in the purchasing department. It was during this time that Lynda earned her BA in Business from EWU. She enjoyed purchasing/sourcing vendors and traveled to Poland and Tai Pei for business while making lasting friendships. Lynda later returned to EWU to earn her Accounting degree. She showed great determination to complete the degree and took great pride in sitting in the front row while wearing bright colored toe socks with her birkenstock shoes and wiggling her toes (the distraction was fun for her). Everyone knew her as the lady with the funky toe socks. Her greatest love in life was her two grandchildren, Sierra and Skyler. She loved hearing stories of their escapades and relaying them to friends. Lynda especially enjoyed her lemonade, coffee, monthly breakfast with her friends, and 4th of July fireworks. She had an insatiable appetite for listening to music and reading current novels. Lynda had a deep and abiding faith in Christ. She first became ill in 2007 with colon & ovarian cancer and fought with strength and courage along with the prayers of friends and family. Throughout Lynda's years of declining health, she valiantly tried to maintain a rich sense of humor. Knowing and loving each person was the success story of her life. She was preceded in death by her generous and loving parents, June and Lloyd Lamb. She is survived by her two children: daughters, Heidi Blair and Heather Frye (husband Jeff); sisters Becky Jensen (husband Jerry), and Connie Howard (husband Richard/"KC"); grandchildren Sierra and Skyler; and many much-loved nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws, and friends. Her wishes were to not hold a formal public service, so please honor her in your own way. A celebration of life will be held at Longhorn BBQ ( 2315 N. Argonne Rd.) from 4-6pm on Saturday, October 19, 2013.
