SPERR, Herman Carl Jr. (age 100) Longtime resident of Malden, WA, passes away on October 17th, 2013 at the Veteran’s Care Center in Spokane, WA. Mr. Sperr lived in Malden from 1919 till 1929, when he moved with his family to Sparks, NV. It was here he graduated from high school in 1932. He then moved to the L.A. area and resided until enlisting in the U.S. Army Air Corp in 1940. In 1942, he married Gladys Burns in Walla Walla, WA, while stationed at the Pendleton Air Field. In 1945, following his service to our country, Mr. Sperr returned to his original home in Malden, WA, to join his wife. From 1946-1980, he worked for the Milwaukee Railroad. He is survived by his son, Herman Carl Sperr III of Spokane. Viewing will occur Monday, October 21st, 2013 between the hours of 9AM and 5PM at Riplinger Funeral Home and Crematory, 4305 N Division, Spokane, WA 99207. Mr. Sperr wished no formal service, but to have his remains rest at the Washington State Veterans Cemetery in Medical Lake, WA.
