KNIEFEL, Wilfred M. MSGT (Ret.)- “Bill” or “Willie” Entered into rest on November 28th, 2013 in Spokane, WA. Born in Medford, MN on February 29th, 1932, to Ben and Ella Kniefel, Willie lived there until graduating from Medford High School in 1950. He then joined the U.S. Air Force, which ultimately became his career. While in the service, he was awarded the Vietnamese Medal of Honor Second Class and The Air Force Commendation Medal. He was a Lifemember of North Hill Masonic Lodge #210, of The Scottish Rite Bodies , and of El Katif Shriners, where he was a member of North Spokane Shrine Club, the High Ball R.R, and the One Hundred Million Dollar Club. He was also a member of the Order of Eastern Star, Chapter 150 of Ludlow, MA. Willie was preceded in death by his loving wife of nearly 50 years, Mary, in 2005. He was also preceded by his brothers, Bernard, Louis, Harlan and sisters, Evelyn, Mildred, Violet, Beatrice, and Lorraine. He is survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Private burial will take place at Spokane Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Spokane, WA. Public memorial service will be held on Monday, December 9th, 2013 at 2:00 PM at Rockwood @ Hawthorne, 101 E Hawthorne Rd, Spokane, WA 99218. In lieu of flowers, donations should be made to Shriners Hospital of Children, Rite Care of Spokane, or the charity of donor’s choice.
