Glady Weaver

September 6, 1924 — November 30, 2013

Glady Weaver “Gramma” Glady Weaver passed into her eternal home in Heaven on November 30, 2013. Shortly before she passed she sang along with family, “What a Friend We Have in Jesus”. Memorial services will be 2pm Sunday, December 29, 2013 at St Luke Lutheran Church, 9706 N. Division in Spokane.“Gramma” Glady was born September 6, 1924 in Gonvick, MN. Glady was the second youngest of twelve. Leaving the farm, she traveled to California to find work. There she met and married Jack Weaver, May 16, 1948. Hearing of homesteading in Alaska they packed up and headed there in 1951. They lived in Anchorage and upon receiving a homestead they moved to Sterling. They lived in a tent until their 12’x 20’ cabin was completed. They had no electricity and hauled water from the local spring. Glady prayed for someone to leave a baby on her porch. Her prayers were answered in June 1955 when she and Jack heard of a set of twins left at Providence Hospital in Anchorage. Eight days later they brought Sharon and Karen home. In 1957, God answered Glady’s prayer again when Doug joined the family from Korea. The family had moved into the “little house” in Soldotna. “A mansion”, Mom called her 24’ by 24’ home with a bathroom and electricity! Glady and Jack instilled in their three children a love for Christ. In the late 1950’s, Jack got cancer and after his death in 1967, Glady moved to Spokane, WA. She returned to Soldotna where she made her home until her passing. She developed in us a faith in a God that answered prayer. Glady had a deep love for children of all ages. Not only did she dearly love us, our children, and grandchildren…she loved many with a genuine love. She was Mom and “Gramma Glady” to many who knew her. Glady was preceded in death by her husband, parents, nine siblings, and son-in-law Chris Tollackson. She is survived by sister, Dily and brother Helmer, both of Minnesota; daughter, Sharon/Dave Isaak, children: Shiela/John Troncoso, (Reina, Mia), Shari/Jayson BeDunnah (Malakai, Khloey, and Tungsten), Kristi and Joel; daughter, Karen Tollackson, children: Jennifer, Matthew/Jenn, (Wyatt and Sophie), Peter/Christi, (Kaitlin, Mckenzie, and Mikayla); son, Doug/Alice Weaver, children: Erin/Jeff Hardwick, (William and Adelyn), John, and Alison. Memorial donations may be made to Union Gospel Mission, PO Box 4066, Spokane, WA 99220 or Child Evangelism Fellowship with a note attached for Joel Isaak, who is ministering to village Alaska, CEF Alaska, 43687 Kalifornsky Beach Road, Soldotna, AK 99669.
