HULL, Ronald E. (Age 82) - Heaven had one of its most valiant servants return home on January 2, 2014. Ronald Eugene Hull was born in Bend, Oregon on December 6, 1931. He passed away peacefully at his home holding hands with his beloved and devoted wife, Joan, after a long 15 year battle with a rare disease called Parkinsonian Progressive Supra-Nuclear Palsy. When the Korean War started, Ron signed up with the Naval Air Reserve and served 8 years before receiving his honorable discharge. Ron later enjoyed being captain of the Ronnie Jo with the crew members comprised of his grandchildren. Ron loved athletics and excelled as a fast pitch softball pitcher, a golfer, and handball champion. He loved life and enjoyed it to its fullest. Ron developed his own talents which included musical instruments, sports and teaching. He loved jazz music and playing the piano, the Hammond organ and the trumpet. Ron danced his way into Joan's heart at a Gonzaga mixer. They were married a couple of years later on January 14, 1955. Ron and Joan were married 59 years at the time of his death, but will be together for eternity. Ron was a valiant member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. He enjoyed serving in many callings, especially teaching Sunday School and missionary work. His belief in Christ was the anchor by which he lived his life. Ron worked for 31 years at the Spokane Daily Chronicle as a district supervisor. After retirement, he was active in the real estate and loan industry. He truly loved to help and serve people. Those he served recognized him to be a very positive, truly unique and one of a kind individual. He was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur Paul and Hazel Bell Hull. Ron is survived by many who will miss his crooked smile, milkshake making talents, and teasing ways, they are: his loving wife, Joan; son, Stephen; daughter, Jodi McKee and her husband, Dave; grandchildren, Emily Maupin and her husband, Jeromy, Andrew Hull, McKenzie McKee, and Hunter McKee; and sister, Glenna Mohr and her sons, Brian and Mike Antoine. A service for Ron will be held on Friday, January 10, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints (Brentwood Ward), 401 W. Regina, Spokane. Interment will follow at Greenwood Memorial Terrace Cemetery.
