BOWEN, Shirley R. (Age 78) – Born on June 24, 1935 in Cambridge, Idaho; entered into rest on May 12, 2014 in Spokane, Washington. She was a Spokane area resident for 59 years. Shirley is survived by a son, William Barber and by his wife, Regina of Medical Lake, WA; daughter, Sharon Spier and her husband, Lonnie of St. Maries, ID; step daughter, Cheryl Cutter of Spokane; five grandchildren, Tony, Jay, Jacob, Maranda and Hunter; and seven great grandchildren. Preceded in death by her husband, Keith in 2010; parents, Ruby and James Watson; and brothers, David Watson and James Watson. Shirley graduated from Weiser High School in 1954. She worked in food service for Spokane School District 81 preparing meals for students before retiring in 1997. Shirley enjoyed bowling, camping, fishing, hunting, riding motorcycles and snowmobiles, and gardening roses and other flowers. Visitation will be held on Friday, May 16th from 9:00 am to 8:00 pm at RIPLINGER FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORY, 4305 N. DIVISION, SPOKANE, WA. A graveside service will be held on Monday, May 19, 2014 at 1:00 pm at the Thornton Cemetery in Thornton, WA.
