Eileen Joyce Borchert passed away comfortably at home on April 21, 2014 surrounded by her family. She was born on November 3, 1936 (an Election Year), to Harvey and Thelma Jamieson in South Connellsville, PA. Eileen graduated from Oil City High School in 1954 where her lifelong friendships began. She then graduated from Hamot Hospital School of Nursing in 1957 in Erie, PA. Eileen married and was blessed with four children. She was an Air Force wife and endured many moves over the years, starting fresh in new areas with more opportunities in her career. Eileen loved being a registered nurse and attained many awards including Nurse of the Year in 1974. Her Title: Eileen Borchert R.N., I.C.U. – C.C. U. - P.I.C. She was the first person in line to learn, operate, and teach new medical technology which changed the course of medicine forever. Eileen’s passion for medicine helped to make her not only the very best in her profession but earned her much respect from everyone she worked with and so much pride from her adorning family. She loved being in Administration and heading the I.C.U. units around the country. Eileen is also in the Hall Of Fame at Hamot Hospital. She retired from the Spokane VA Hospital in 1993. Eileen was the “Sports Authority”, following every game for every season and the best commentator born. She loved to read, play cards, travel, and being with her family. Eileen loved to support her community and making pledges to family and friends and having a Pepsi a day! She was preceded in death by her parents; her brothers, Dale, Ronald, twins Gary and Terry, and Larry Jamieson. Eileen is survived by her sister; Karen Reyes of Spokane; brother, James Jamieson of Fountain Valley, CA; her son, David Borchert; her daughters, Deborah Moore (Brian), Deanna Lesser (Scott), and Denise Eileen Borchert; grandchildren; Justin, Tricia Eileen, and Danielle Lesser, Chad and Calla Moore, and Melody Annalyse Davis/Borchert; great grandchildren of the Lesser family; Alexis, Isaiah, Jaenissi Monroe, Jordyn, and Juanito III; along with numerous nieces and nephews. We miss you GG, much love. A “Celebration of Eileen’s Life” will be held on Tuesday, June 24, 2014 beginning at 2:30PM in the Sunset Mausoleum Chapel 5200 W Wellesley Ave., followed by a urnplacement service on the grounds of Fairmount Memorial Park.
