Floyd Edwin Hill, Jr. passed away July 14, at the age of 79, at Arbor Rose in Spokane. He was born on December 4, 1934 in Spokane, WA. He was preceded in death by his wife, Elaine (Sullivan) Hill, and his parents, Floyd, Sr. and Edna Hill. After Floyd graduated from Columbia High School in Hunters, WA, he then served in the Air Force. He later married Elaine Sullivan of Spokane, WA and worked in business and real estate on the west side of the state and in Texas. Floyd loved to travel, especially around the state of Washington and liked to find the “best” bakeries in the area where he and Elaine traveled. He was very interested in the geology and history of the Northwest and volunteered at the Washington State Historical Museum in Tacoma. After moving back to Spokane during retirement, he volunteered at the Northwest Museum of Arts and Culture. He is survived by a brother, Jack (Kathy) Hill, along with two sisters, Nona (Don) Reinbold, and Dorothy Hill. Numerous nieces, nephews, and grandnieces make up his family, also. Visitation will be possible on Monday, July 21st between the hours of 9AM and 5PM and also on Tuesday, July 22nd between 9AM and Noon at RIPLINGER FUNERAL HOME, 4305 N DIVISION, SPOKANE, WA. Graveside funeral service and Interment will be held on Tuesday, July 22, 2014 at 2:00 PM at St. Joseph's Cemetery, 17825 E. Trent in Spokane Valley, WA.
