Douglas W. Richardson 1/3/1940 – 11/16/2014 Douglas Richardson, 74, passed on November 16, 2014, with his family by his side, in Spokane, WA. Douglas was born to Ralph and Virginia Richardson January 3, 1940, in Los Angeles, California. He graduated Beverly Hills High School in 1957, Occidental College in 1961, and USC Law School in 1964. Douglas was a practicing trial attorney for over 35 years in all Southern California courts. As a child, Doug spent summers at Loon Lake with his parents, where he enjoyed all of the various water sports. His favorite past times were water skiing and cruising Loon Lake in his father’s 1960 Chris Craft. In 1987, Doug married the love of his life, Susan Richardson. Doug and Susan lived in Tustin, California until 2003, when they relocated and built a home in Spokane, just 45 minutes from Loon Lake. Doug was an avid reader, and loved to debate politics and current news. Friends would say he offered a different perspective on every topic. His interests included keeping in touch with friends and family by phone and email, watching Fox News and spending quality time with Susan in their Spokane home. Doug is survived by his wife Susan Richardson, step-children Pam, Jeff and Loren Grube, and grandchildren Justin, David, Alex and Sydney Grube. He was preceded in death by his brother, mother and father. A memorial service will be held at Riplinger Funeral Home, 4305 N. Division, Spokane, at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 22, 2014.
