Lyn K. (Butler) Bierce passed away in Spokane on Dec. 13, 2014 at the age of 65. Lyn was born in Longview, WA on February 6, 1949. She moved to the Spokane Valley as a young child, graduating from West Valley High School in 1967. She attended Boise State University and also Spokane Community College a bit later in life, where she obtained an AA degree in Horticulture, graduating in 1990. She worked for many years in electronics at various companies. She retired from employment at Instrumentation Laboratory in 1990 to become a homemaker. For the past 15 years she resided with her husband Craig in the Deer Park area. She and Craig had been married for 32 years. Joining them at home were her pets, her dog Libby Rae and her cat Louie. She was an avid animal lover and a member of the Humane Society and SPCA. She loved being a homemaker, as well as gardening and her hobby of woodworking. In addition to her husband Craig, Lyn is survived by her mother Doris Smethers; her sister, Kathi Jingling (both of Spokane); her sister, Diane Heitzman of Gresham Oregon; and her step-daughter, Jessi Parker of Reedsport, Oregon. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews, her family of in-laws, and many friends, all of whom held a very important place in her heart. Lyn was preceded in death by her father Bill Butler and her brother Jim. A memorial service will be held January 7, 2015 at 2pm at Riplinger Funeral Home 4305 N Division Spokane.
