BLAIN, Elvira “Tootie” (Age 95) – Born on March 7, 1919 in Saskatchewan, Canada; entered into rest on January 21, 2015 in Spokane, Washington. Elvira attended Rogers High School in Spokane. She later worked as a sales clerk in the Fine Jewelry Department at the Crescent Department Store for many years before retiring in 1975. Elvira enjoyed crocheting, fishing, traveling and working on jig saw puzzles. She is survived by her daughter, Janet Scott (Dee); son, Richard Blain (Susan) all of Spokane; grandchildren, Cindy Baker (Pat) of Seburn, Maryland, Todd Scott (Annaliese) of Beaverton, OR, Heather Brown (Brady) of Moses Lake, WA; great grandchildren, Nicky, Tim and Aurora; great-great grandchild, Zachery; and one sister, Hazel McKelvey and many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by her husband, Wendell Blain in 1998; parents, Peter and Emma Strand; two sisters, Clara and Ella and two brothers, Leland and Harvey. A viewing will be on Thursday from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm at RIPLINGER FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORY, 4305 N. DIVISION, SPOKANE, WA. A funeral service will be held on Friday, January 30, 2015 at 11:00 am at the Sunset Mausoleum Chapel, Fairmount Memorial Park, 5200 W. Wellesley, Spokane, WA. A celebration of her life will continue following the service at the Eagles Lodge Aerie #2, 6410 N. Lidgerwood, Spokane from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm.
