ROOT, Albert Donald- (Age 65) beloved husband, dad, grandfather, brother, uncle, cousin and friend has gone home to be with our Lord and savior March 10th 2015. Albert was born to Margaret and Foster Root on September 4th 1949 in Seattle, Washington. He was the younger of two siblings Patricia Comer and Jim Root. Albert graduated from Shadle Park High School in 1967. Serving his country, he joined the Army during the Vietnam War. Once home while working the front desk at the travel lodge, he quickly took notice of the young lady working the gift shop. After many flirtatious visits, their connection was made. Albert and Victoria were married on June 30th 1979. Together they raised four beautiful daughters, Joyce, Jill, Joanie, and Whitney. He considered this accomplishment to be a true blessing in his life. Following his artistic abilities he went on to earn his degree in Graphic Design at Spokane Falls Community College. His passion for music always brought light to his life and those he shared it with. Laughter was very frequent in his home, he brought lots of joy to his family and friends through his great sense of humor. He enjoyed playing games and reading books to his grandchildren. Art, chess, cooking, fishing, tennis and watching movies were some of his favorite pastimes. He enjoyed spending time at the Mending Fences Church, there he could share his love for the word of God with others. Recently becoming an honorary board member touched his heart. Albert’s arms were always open to anyone in need of compassion, prayer, or a good friend. Albert’s kind spirit will be greatly missed by those whose lives he touched and live on in our hearts. Albert is survived by his wife Victoria Root; daughters, Joyce Erin (Root) Leibrecht (husband, Ron Leibrecht), Jill Shannon (Root) Kimberling (husband, Randall Kimberling), Margaret Joan Carise Root (Fiancé, Jesstin Day), and Whitney Marie Root (Fiancé, Zach Gee); grandchildren, Gabriel, Landon, and Levi; brother, Jim Root; as well as many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
