MARY SHARON LUTZ Beloved wife, mother, and grandmother was called Home on March 13, 2015 . She was born Mary Sharon Morgan in West Ridge, Arkansas. Her family moved to Richland, WA in 1943 when she was 8 yrs. old. She graduated from Columbia High School in Richland, WA in 1952 and then attended Whitworth College where she met her future husband Bill. She graduated with an education degree in 1956 and went on to be an elementary school librarian and taught various grades until she retired in 1995 from Evergreen Elementary. Mary was united in marriage to William Lutz on June 12, 1956 in Richland , WA and they had 4 children together. They enjoyed living at Rockwood at Hawthorne Retirement Community for the last 7 years. Mary was a committed Christian and was a member of the Northwood Presbyterian Church where she served as both an Elder and Deacon. Mary enjoyed sewing, quilting, reading and attending the symphony. Bill and Mary traveled extensively to Russia, Europe, Hawaii , Alaska, Central America, Mexico and the Oregon Coast. Mary loved spending time with friends, including various church groups as well as a group of other retired teachers. Mary was a member of Whitworth University Woman’s Auxiliary. Mary was preceded in death by her parents and her oldest son Steven (19). She is survived by her husband Bill, and sons Jim (Cindy),Tom, and Chris (Lisa) Lutz; brothers Howard (Margo), and James (Marion) Morgan; sisters Suzi (Gary) Henry and Cindy (Scott) Moore. Mary’s seven grandchildren (Cameo, Isaac, Jamie, Adam, Steve, Rachel and Kevin) were her pride and joy! In lieu of flowers, a memorial contribution can be made to Westminster Food Bank in care of Northwood Presbyterian Church. A celebration of Mary’s life will be held at Northwood Presbyterian Church, 6721 N. Monroe, Spokane, WA on March 28th at 2 pm.
