Monday, March 30th 2015 she fell asleep for an afternoon nap and slipped away peacefully. She was preceded in death by her husband and “Lover Boy” Eugene (Gene) D Plett, her son Donald “Wilder” Plett, grandson Ryan D Boucher, her parent’s and all of her ten siblings. She is survived by her children: Eugene J (Linda) Plett, Connie (Bud) Boucher, Janet (Ken) Rice, Mona Lisa Plett, Theresa (Rich) McBournie, Gary (Tatiana) Plett. Grandchildren: Monica (Keoni) Bangan, Melanie (Paul) Krisfalusi, Rachelle (Josiah) Boone, Will (Ashley) Boucher, Zach (Sadie) McBournie, Levi McBournie, Kaspar and Sebastian Sander and Audrey Plett. Ramona also has nine great-grandchildren that she dearly loved. Ramona met her husband Gene in Strasburg, ND when he came to town for one day as the traveling photographer. She would willingly tell anyone that she knew he was the “one” when she first saw him through the large oval glass of her front door before even opening it to him! They started to write letters which kept them in touch even when her family moved to Spokane WA. Gene came for a visit in October 1947 and never left. They were married on December 29, 1948. Their honeymoon lasted more than 52 years. Their life together was filled with fun, family, friends, dancing, camping, raising a family, traveling and always with more love than can ever be imagined. Through her life Ramona enjoyed being involved with the Guild at Assumption Parish, various PTAs, bookkeeping for her husband’s cabinet shop and even campaigned for John F. Kennedy. She also took pride in the part-time jobs she had as a teenager—usher at a movie theater, cashier at an ice cream parlor and elevator operator at a Medical Center. Mostly she loved being a wife and mother, always praying that her loved ones were healthy and happy. She had very powerful prayers… some said she had a direct line to heaven. Her family takes solace she is now in heaven with her Lord and Savior. Services will be held at St. Joseph’s Parish, 3720 E Colbert Rd, Colbert, WA 99005 on Saturday, April 11, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to The Poor Clare Sisters of Spokane, who she turned to at all times of need, great or small, for their prayers and support. Or please donate to the Sisters of Providence, for the many times she was in their care at Sacred Heart or Holy Family Hospital and for 16 months at the wonderful Emilie Court Assisted Living.
