LOKKEN, Frieda Christine (Schillinger) 95 years old Frieda died peacefully in her home on July 26th. She was born to Karl and Anna Schillinger in Davenport, Washington, April 13, 1920. She was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Gilmore Lokken, her son Robert Lokken and her daughter Kathy Lokken Rivinius. She married her husband on August 21, 1939. They lived in Davenport until moving to Spokane in 1953. Together they raised five children, Nancy Lokken of Spokane, Kathy Lokken Rivinius of Grand Forks, North Dakota, Robert Lokken of Seattle, Ole Lokken of Spokane and Roger Lokken of Tonasket Washington. She is survived by two sisters Mary Carney of Spokane and Betty Christian of Salem Oregon and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great- grandchildren. Frieda enjoyed the outdoors. Camping, fishing, picking huckleberries and working in her yard. She loved her flowers and gardening. She also loved to travel and visited Norway, Sweden, Denmark and Hawaii. She and her husband drove a pickup and camper to Alaska and chartered a float plane to fly across the Arctic Circle to visit a remote village. They also traveled through most of the United States. They belonged to the Sons of Norway, Eagles Lodge and the El Dorado Camping Club. In the last several years she enjoyed going to lunch with the girls, fondly called The Lunch Bunch. Most of the girls were her age and all enjoyed sharing stories and laughing. No service will be held at her request however, a private urn placement will take place at Spokane Memorial Gardens.
