Darrell Mae Ellis, 92, of Spokane, WA, died peacefully on July 19, 2015 after living in Hospice House for one week. Darrell was born in Roanoke Rapids, NC to Charles B. Davis and Flossie Freeman. She lived most of her life in Roanoke Rapids and worked as a Pharmacy Technician and a Nursing Aid, taking care of ill people in their homes. She and her husband, "Marion", moved to Spokane to live with their daughter, Louise, in 2006. Darrell will be remembered with love by her only child, daughter Louise Ellis Klouda; her grandchildren, Patricia Nielsen (husband Glen Nielsen) and Darrelle Volwiler (husband Stewart Volwiler); her great-grandchildren, Adam Volwiler (wife Kari Volwiler), Megan Nielsen and Christopher Nielsen, and her great-great grandson, Warren Volwiler. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Mallory “Marion” Ellis, who passed away in December, 2008. A celebration of life will be conducted at 3:30pm, Friday, August 7, 2015 at Riplinger Funeral Home and Crematory 4305 N Division Spokane, WA. A reception will be held following the service at the home of Louise Klouda. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Hospice House of Spokane.
