RUBERTAS, BMC Edward Albert (Age 59) - Passed away at home in the care of hospice on November 23, 2015 from pancreatic cancer. He was born on October 6, 1956 in Waterbury, CT to Edna Dubauskas Rubertas and Albert Rubertas. He is predeceased by his father Albert. He is survived by his sons; Nicholas E. Rubertas of New York City, NY, Jonathan H. Rubertas of Spokane, WA and Benjamin L. Rubertas of Spokane, WA. As well as his mother, Edna Rubertas of Naugatuck, CT; his sisters, Deborah Rubertas of Milford, CT, Janice Rubertas of Orlando, FL, Sindy Rubertas Butkus of Middlebury, CT; and his brother, John Rubertas of Naugatuck, CT. Ed joined the Coast Guard in 1975 and retired in 2000 after 25 years of service. He served the majority of his career in Florida and received a BA degree from Eckerd College. Ed began working for the U.S. Post Office after his military retirement and was working as a supervisor for the U.S. Post Office in Tampa, FL. His love of the sea continued with routine trips to south Florida for deep sea fishing. A Memorial Service will be held at 1:30 p.m. on December 8, 2015 at the Washington State Veterans Cemetery, Medical Lake, WA.
