Dennis "Denny" Arthur Wederspahn

April 27, 1949 — December 17, 2015

WEDERSPAHN, Dennis Arthur (Denny), age 66, passed away at his home in Spokane, Washington on December 17, 2015. Denny was born to Arthur and Alma (Lobe) Wederspahn on April 27, 1949 in Odessa, Washington. Denny attended and graduated from North Central High School in 1967. He also attended Wenatchee Valley Junior College and Spokane Community College. Shortly after college, he began working for Harlan Douglass alongside his father building many US Post Office buildings. He opened the Big Foot tavern in North Spokane in 1969. He then began working for Joey August Distributors from 1975 to March 1995 in various positions. He later worked for Royal Distributing from 1996 until his “retirement” in 2007. Denny married Charlene Faoro and together they had two beautiful boys, Blaine and Jason, whom Denny was so proud of and was always active in their lives. Denny later went on to meet and marry Linda Zimmerman and together they shared 16 years together and operated the Spangle Saloon & Grill side by side for the last 10 years. Denny was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Alma Wederspahn. He leaves behind his wife, Linda; children, Blaine and Jason Wederspahn; granddaughter, Autumn Marie Wederspahn; sister and brother-in-law, Joyce and Allen Kuest; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles, and of course the many, many friends he met along his journey. Service will be held on Saturday, January 2, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at RIPLINGER FUNERAL HOME, N 4305 DIVISION, SPOKANE, WA. Denny was a casual kind of guy. He would want everyone to wear their favorite team shirt (Go Cougs) or NASCAR attire. Nothing fancy. A gathering and celebration of life will be held afterwards in the banquet room at Snoop’s Saloon, 805 East Rosewood Avenue, Spokane, Washington. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Spokane Humane Society, 6607 N Havana St, Spokane, WA 99217 or the Inland Empire Soft Ball Hall of Fame Scholarship Program, c/o Doug Bender, 1615 South Lloyd, Spokane, WA 99212.
