Livie, Evelyn M., 76, passed away April 16, 2009. Known affectionately by family and friends as “Jolly”, Evelyn was born in Silvana, WA November 16, 1932. She and husband George (Lt. Col., Ret. – passed away 10/22/08) had made Spokane their home since 1980. Prior to living in Spokane, Evelyn and George called over 30 places “home” during their many years as an Air Force family. Evelyn grew up in Concrete, WA, where she and George attended Concrete High School together; she married George Livie in 1952. Evelyn contributed much to her community as a lifetime member of Beta Sigma Phi sorority and as a member of the American Business Women’s Association. Among her many qualities, Evelyn had the ability to make anyone feel comfortable and special. She was quick with a smile and a laugh and those of us who knew and loved her remember her saying often, “Doesn’t it feel good to laugh?” Mom – thank you for showing us the importance of joy in our lives and know that your laughter will remain with us forever. Evelyn is survived by her son Brian Livie (Lt. Col, Ret.) of Colorado Springs; daughter, Elonna Jordan of New Market, MD and daughter, Barbara Fuente of Tulsa, Oklahoma. She also leaves sister Darlo Grierson of Shelton, CT and brother David Wahl of Bellingham WA. Evelyn had 5 grandchildren, Matthew Armrose, Heather (Jordan) Stoker, Vincent Livie, Vanessa Livie, and Lucas Fuente. She is also survived by 6 great grandchildren. Graveside service will be 2:00 PM Sunday, April 19, 2009 at Fairmount Memorial Park Cemetery 5200 W. Wellesley. Riplinger Funeral Home 4305 N. Division Spokane, WA entrusted with arrangements.
